A MAGICAL MORNING

I made this piece in the Early Autumn. For hours and hours it took me on a journey of great ideas, dubious ones, and then finally a triumph of explosive color that had me transported into the most beautiful early morning forest to pop open my fatigued eyes. It was that favorite Morning we all know or atleast see in our daydreams. It is a story of magic in those moments when the rest of the loud world has not yet begun to open its eyelids for the day. Where two elusive early rising magicians encounter one another in the vast beauty of untamed nature: The Witch and the Fox are in my own mind always intrigued at the existence of one another. I continued my series of fantastic romanticism wherein the sheer breadth and all-too relatable wonder of the familiar nature surrounding the characters in the foreground becomes more fantastical in its realism than the two connecting souls are. It was created with Gouache and many of my favorite brushes and colors and I should add- one of my best brushes - a rare find in a market in Jaipur India when I visited a couple years ago {The Pink City as it is affectionately nicknamed} was used to make some seriously pain-staking detail {the tiny eyes of the fox for instance}.
