The Vampire Of The Vanities {Ghost Story} 2 Sizes
I was taken one day with the idea of the iconic seductive beauty of vampires. And also that by some cruel joke- the ‘fact’ in the Blood-suckers’ cannon that they cannot see their refection. I thought also of perhaps the faustian bargain between this undead lover and an ex-partner of his. Perhaps he could give her back her youthful looks and she stays ‘beautiful’ forever. Ah but with one caveat eh?
The uniqueness of these one-page-stories and what they hold over the original piece of art is that they actually appear right along side the haunting story in glorious and romantic ‘Trattatello’ font harkening to a world that dreamed and yearned before anything digital ever happened to us. These pieces attain a ‘completion’ between the story, acting to illustrate the art in a way the original piece lacks and a combined symmetry between the masculinity of words and the femininity of visuals for a truly satisfying story-time experience to be appreciated with a comforting glance at your haloed wall. The result is a piece all its own- achieving it’s full expression as a print.
Here is what your Romantic Legend shall read:
“Are you ready to say goodbye.”, he asked. I exposed my neck to that hungar in his eyes. I could hear his words as he pierced my tunnels of life force. “Tonight you will feel real pain for one eternal instant... and then life will become delicious. Forever. Quiet now. Soon that silver hair will be as black as the night sky once more— just like I remember you. What is a drop of pain in the Ocean of Pleasure.”His thoughts told me to “Scream Now.”. And so I did... I sang out. I sang 62 operatic years and the biggest heart break of my life. My eyes rolled back in my head as we merged. Soon I would drink him back... the boudoir door was opening for my “rescuers” crying out in terror- as they saw my darkening locks. Alas, I was finished with everything here...And as I tasted his immortality- as I said hello to my returning beauty... I said goodbye at last... ...To my reflection.”
